Locks of the Week 4 NFL and Week 5 NCAAF

It’s time to kick of this week, just to remind you, I went an impressive 4-0 last week with my best bets for a great start to this column. Hopefully my insight and skills of perception led to this.

NFL Spread

First off the Buccaneers @ the Steelers -7.5. Now normally I would take the underdog especially given the injuries on the defensive side of the ball that the Steelers endured in their last game at Carolina. But having won 37-19 on the road against a superior defensive team in the panthers, so I have faith that the Steelers can cover this big of a spread at home against the Buccaneers with Gerald McCoy questionable again for this and the Buccs unable to generate a steady pass rush I see the Steelers running away with this one by at least 14pts or 2 tds. PLAY Steelers -7.5

Falcons at Vikings +3 – With no Adrian Peterson and a rookie QB in Bridgewater set to make his first start I see this as an easy win for the Falcons who are back to old form after a down season. The Falcons have the #1 number I have passing offense in the league. The vikings have the @9 pass offense and 23 rushing offense respectively with a middle of the road defense overall at 11th in ydspg allowed 8th in ppg at 18.7 allowed. Now losing the last two games at an average of 15 both home and away I see the offense of the Falcons being to much to overcome. Play Falcons -3

College Spread

First up an easy Road favorite in Bowling Green @ UMASS +5 who have a two-year win drought in the MAC conference are not a threat to last year Conference Champs (with the 113th overall offense and the 99th overall defense). I see this as an easy MAC conference win for Bowling Green (with the 46th overall offense and equally horrendous offense at 123rd overall) by at least 10 points for an easy cover. Play Bowling Green -5

Second with Boise St. @ Air Force I like Boise St -13 with Air Force only managing to beat FCS Nicholls St and FBS newcomer Georgia St. I see Boise St rolling to an easy road win against the AF. Play Boise St. -13.

Bonus Pick: the 3GS parlay of the week Bowling green, Boise St, and Notre Dame over Syracuse +9.5 having come down from +13 for cuse I think the beat the orange down on a neutral site at Metlife stadium.
