There are two big fights this Saturday on NBC. The main event involves Jr. Welterweights Danny “Swift” Garcia 27 years old 29-0 (17 KOs) Vs. Lamont “Havoc” Peterson 31 years old 33-2-1 (17 KOs). The earlier fight is a Middleweight matchup between Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillon 31 years old 31-0 (22 KOs) Vs. Andy “Irish” Lee 30 years old 34-2 (24 KOs) WBO title holder.
These fights will be called by an all-star team of Costas, Michaels and Albert. But most important are the odds on this fight. Garcia is currently favored -360 and Peterson is currently +270; with Garcia the overwhelming favorite and seemingly a very safe pick as he is the younger fighter with quality wins in his last 4 fights it would be wise to bet on him but the odds on the under card for Quillin at -325 as the favorite over Lee +250 although the current title holder.
Quillin, having defeated Winky Wright for the WBO title in 2012 I feel he is the safer bet. Further evidence of the reasoning behind this pick is that both loses are against top quality fighters Julio Caesar Chavez Jr. and Brian Vera both fighters who are quality opponents and have similar styles to Quillin.
Pick: Peter Quillin better return on money over Garcia who I believe will win but could be upset by Lamont who is the larger fighter naturally.
