First round is almost done, how’d we do? WE went fucking 4-1 in the series picks!
Keep in mind it’s been all chalk (chalk means when the higher seeded team wins) so far, so it’s not entirely difficult to pick by the numbers. Still, we could have been all wrong, so its gotta count for something.
More importantly. For the individual games that we mostly tweet or post on Facebook. We went 28-18, +29.59 units. You can view our history on pickmonitor.com. It’s a free to use site that allows anyone to track their picks and provide a transparent and public record of your play. It helps to clear up the, “how full of it are these guys” type of questions.
For today we’re looking at the Series and the first individual games.
Series first. We liked the way the Wizards were able to handle the size of the Hawks, and I don’t think Boston are as strong inside as Atlanta are. Obviously the guards on Washington are better than the Boston crew. That gives us an easy play, Washington Wizards (Series) +175. I think if Rondo didn’t get hurt, Boston might have lost that first series.
Cleveland Cavaliers (Series) -440 over Toronto is the EASIEST money you will find. 1/4 isn’t a great odds bet, but if you have money that you need to not lose, this is where you could safely put it for 2 weeks and see a decent return. Cleveland is winning if they make it safely to the arena 4 times.
San Antonio Spurs (Series) -255 over Houston. This will be a great 6 game series, might go 7 but I’m thinking Pop has some series scheme defense that can control the ridiculous foul calls that James Harden seems to always get. LaMarcus Aldridge should be able to get more involved in the offense now that he doesn’t have to deal with Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph. It’ll be a great series.
Can’t pick the 4th series, but I’d still take Golden State over whoever comes out from Utah and L.A.
Now the first Individual games.
Washington Wizards +4.5 over Boston. I don’t see how Wall and Beal get stopped.
Cleveland Cavaliers -6.5 over Toronto. They’re rested, healthy and ready for a 5 game series tops.
Houston Rockets +5.5 over San Antonio. The Spurs should win, but it’ll be closer than 6 points.
